On this Maine Day of Giving, alumni from Gannett 2 North are fundraising for their endowed scholarship that benefits students living in Gannett 2 North at UMaine!
"Sue and I made a day trip to Old Orchard and back Friday so that I could attend a unique reunion. Fifty years ago this month, I set out to conquer the world by attending University of Maine Orono, College of Engineering. Was assigned a dorm room in Gannett Hall, second floor, north wing, a.k.a. "Gannett 2 North". Thus began an education in life that in many ways was just as valuable as my future degree. I was fortunate to meet and live on the wing with these guys that became a brotherhood without the formality of a frat. Different backgrounds, different goals, but friends looking out for each other. Half a century later, still a brotherhood each going a different way. However, thanks to a few of these guys, we are establishing a scholarship fund to help deserving students who reside in Gannett 2 North as a way to possibly demonstrate to its current residents that living as a community, and not individually, still matters. Proud to be their friend." -Keith Brown '78
