About the Project: Every year a new class of rising seniors becomes part of the All Maine Women legacy. The Sponsor-a-Sapling Fundraiser supports the incoming members of the society and covers routine costs that can come with this honor. We encourage alumni and friends of the society to consider donating. No amount is too small, and all funds will go directly to members of the incoming class.
About the All Maine Women: The All Maine Women Honor Society was founded on April 16, 1925 through the combined efforts of Caroline Colvin, Dean of Women, and Dr. Clarence Little, University of Maine President, to recognize distinguished leadership, scholarship, and service to the University and campus community by outstanding individuals of the incoming senior class. All Maine Women is the highest all-inclusive honor society to which a University of Maine student can belong, and AMW are pledged to uphold and promote the ideals, standards and traditions of the University.
About the All Maine Women Alumni Affinity Group: The AAG began in 2010 to provide the following types of support to the society:
- Create a network for All Maine Women alumni to stay connected to the University of Maine and provide opportunities to seek professional development and networking.
- Maintain and foster connections with alumnae and current members who symbolize the roots and branches of our All Maine Women family tree.
- Provide financial resources to the current class so they may more completely fulfill their roles as leaders and philanthropists in the community.
- Raise awareness of the All Maine Women on campus through interactions with faculty and staff, as well as through guidance and support of the current class.
Your Donation: Our fundraising goal of $3,000 will support the members of the incoming class. No contribution is too small, but if you would like some guidance, we are including the breakdown of annual costs for a single sapling.
